Keep Your Tan Looking Good
Before Your Spray Tan
To prepare for your tanning experience, I recommend you shower in order to exfoliate your entire body. Pay special attention to the knees, ankles, feet and elbows. If you plan on shaving, I suggest this to done 8 hours prior to your tan and body sugaring or waxing should be done at least 24 hours prior to your appointment.
Do not apply moisturizers, make-up or deodorant prior to your appointment. These may affect the way your skin will absorb the tanning solution and cause uneven fading.
When you come to our salon for your tan I suggest you wear nothing light colored or tight. Wearing sandals and lose fitting clothing prevent the risk of rubbing your skin before the color has set.
During the tanning session you may wear whatever you feel comfortable with. Women this is usually swimsuits, or disposable bras and bikinis bottoms or all natural with no tan lines at all.
Men typically wear boxers, briefs, swim trunks or shorts.
Technicians use the utmost discretion when spray tanning and all tans are preformed in private.
After your spray tan
Once your tan has been applied you will need to wait 8 to 12 hours before showering. This gives the solution adequate time to develop on the skin.
The first four hours are critical to the success of your Fake Bake Spray tan. Avoid activities that will cause you to perspire excessively. Avoid backpacks or purses that may rub on any part of your body.
After a minimum of 8 hours you can take a post-tan shower and then moisturize your skin.
This will help set and maintain the length of your tan. Always moisturize to help prolong the life of your tan.
Things to Remember
Long hot baths, hot tubs, chlorine and saltwater may affect your tan.
A woman's tan may also develop differently during various hormonal changes. The tan may fade quicker, or produce a lighter color than usual.
When wet, pat dry as opposed to rubbing.
Always use a fresh razor when shaving. Dull razors scrape off more skin and tan.
